Well, I am now 34 1/2 weeks along. Isn't that just amazing!?! I always hoped to get this far, but have to admit that I had my doubts. I saw my doctor this weeks and the plan is that on November 8th I will go in for an amniocentesis to check the maturity of her lungs. (I will be 37 weeks by then, and 80% of babies have mature lungs at that point.) If they are mature, then I will have the c-section the next day. If they aren't mature, they should be able to tell from the amniocentesis roughly how much longer she will need and we will schedule the c-section according to that.
I have to admit that I am really hoping thing work out for the 8th & 9th. I am ready to bring her home. My bags have been packed for a couple of weeks now, and I have finished all my sewing projects. She has a new soft blanket, a car seat tent, and a wrap blanket that goes inside the car seat. I do have lots of fabric to make her skirts to match Elli, but those will come later. All we really have left to do right now is figure out what her name is going to be.
So lets hope that she is among the 80%, I really like the sound of November 9th for a birthday.
